What are your opening hours?Our High Wycombe location in Lane End is open Monday - Friday 8:30am - 6pm. If you are collecting or returning a vehicle to our Ickenham, Iver or Warrington sites, please call us before travelling across as these sites are by appointment only.

Can I return the vehicle I am renting later than agreed?Sure, but please call us to extend the rental so we are aware hasn't gone AWOL. Please note that extending a rental by more than the 30 mins grace period, will incur an additional charge.

I'm running a little late to return my rental car or van - is that ok?Sure, we understand that sometimes traffic can be mad. We offer a 30 minute grace period; if you think you're going to be a little later than that, please give us a call as late returns without prior agreement will incur additional charges at the daily rate specified in the rental agreement. Early returns will not be refunded but may be issued a credit note for future rentals.

Can you guarantee which vehicle I will be collecting?When you rent through MCVR, you are selecting a group (i.e. group A small car), although we cannot guarantee which car you will be getting from this group, if you call in advance we will endeavour to advise which car it is likely to be. In relation to vans - due to nature of these rentals, if you book a specific group, we will ensure that the payload and dimension of the cargo space is not smaller than that listed on the booking.

I've had an accident in one of MCVR's vehicles - what do I do?Immediately ring the 24-hour Accident Management number. Do not admit fault, take necessary details from the third party, and submit an accident report to MCVR on the same day. Failure to report within the first hour will result in a £1,000 penalty and liability for costs.

What are the age requirements for renting a vehicle?All drivers must be aged between 21 and 70 and have held their full UK licence for at least 1 year. Drivers aged 21-24 must have held their licence for 2 years and can only rent certain vehicle groups. Minibus drivers must be aged between 25 and 69 with a D1 entitlement on their licence for a minimum of 2 years.

What payment methods are accepted?Payment must be made by credit card or debit card. A credit card in the lead driver’s name is required for the deposit pre-authorisation. Cheques and pre-paid credit cards are not accepted. Third-party payments are not allowed.

What documents do I need to present when collecting the vehicle?The lead driver must present a valid driving licence, a valid passport, two proofs of address dated within the last two months, a credit card in their name, and their National Insurance number for a DVLA driving licence check. Additional drivers must present the same forms of ID.

What is the cancellation policy?Bookings canceled less than 48 hours from the pick-up date are non-refundable. If appropriate ID or the necessary payment/deposit is not produced at the time of pick-up, no refund will be made. Cancellations must be confirmed in writing by MCVR.

What is the fuel policy?Vehicles must be returned with a full tank of fuel. If not, the customer will be charged for the missing fuel plus a surcharge. Electric vehicles must be returned with at least 80% charge, or a penalty will be applied.

Are there mileage limits on rentals?Yes, daily rentals are limited to 200 miles per day. Excess mileage will be charged accordingly.

What are the insurance and damage liability terms?Drivers are subject to a damage liability of up to £2,000 per instance of damage. This can be reduced to £500 by purchasing a collision damage waiver for £30 per day. Certain drivers have higher damage liabilities. Glass and tyre damage is not covered but can be insured separately for £12 per day.

Can I take the rental vehicle overseas?Overseas travel is only allowed with prior written consent from MCVR at least 48 hours before leaving the UK. Unauthorized overseas travel incurs a fee of up to £2,000 per day and full liability for the vehicle.

What is the policy on telematics and vehicle monitoring?MCVR vehicles may be fitted with a telematics device to track location, mechanical health, and for security purposes. By renting from MCVR, you consent to the use of these devices.

What are the penalties for missed services and failure to report warning lights?If a service is missed during your rental, a £2,000 penalty charge will be applied. Failure to report warning lights immediately also incurs a £2,000 penalty plus any resulting repair and loss of use costs.

Are there any restrictions on vehicle use?Vehicles cannot be used for illegal purposes, racing, towing, overloading, or driving on unsealed roads, among other restrictions. The vehicle must also not be driven by unauthorized drivers or driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

What if the interior of the vehicle is damaged or dirty?A specialist cleaning charge of £200 will be applied if the vehicle’s interior is especially muddy, dirty, stained, or smelly. Full repair costs will be charged for any instances of vandalism.

How are fines and charges handled?You are responsible for paying any congestion charges, tolls, parking fees, and fines. An administration fee will be charged if MCVR has to handle these on your behalf.
